Peptide Reality Check

Ipamorelin

often paired with CJC-1295 · D-tier (Dr. Alex Tatem) · Limited evidence

A “clean” GH releaser (little effect on cortisol or prolactin), but its one real clinical trial failed.

Dr. Tatem’s take

D-tier: “Why are you trying to boost growth hormone? If you really want to cut weight and lose fat, we have so much better options now.”

History & background

Ipamorelin was developed by Novo Nordisk and described in 1998 as the first selective GH secretagogue — it releases growth hormone without the cortisol and prolactin bumps seen with older GHRPs.

Helsinn later tested it for post-operative ileus (slow gut recovery after bowel surgery); the phase 2 trial published in 2014 missed its primary endpoint and development stopped. It remains on FDA’s Category 2 list for outsourcing facilities and is banned in sport.
